The Marketing Director Teens is the business owner of the online channel for teens. He or she reports directly into the Channel Director and is part of Marketing Team. Marketing Director is actively managing various stakeholders in the organization who are involved in making the platform successful (for example; Sales Teams, PR Professionals, Online Marketing Team, Game Developers and Platform Developers.) The Marketing Director has the authority to make all final decisions in relation to the Teens channel.
 
Core Responsibilities are:

  • Defining and executing the strategy for the Teens channel (web and mobile)
  • Managing and leading the team
  • Growing traffic and engagement of the Teens community
  • Improving conversions and revenues
  • Setting and managing project priorities
  • Defining and executing the product & online marketing roadmap
  • Managing the process of designing, developing and launching new features on the platform
  • Managing the marketing budget
  • Working with game development licensing and the partnerships team to source new games
  • Managing all PR and brand activation activities

About the Teens channel:
Our Teens channel caters to both boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 15, an audience that tends to fall into two age-related groups:

The 10–12 year olds are in an achievement phase, striving to prove themselves and be accepted. Improving their gaming skills (and showing off the results) helps them feel a sense of accomplishment, while being part of a social community centered around something they love gives them a sense of belonging.

The 13–15 year olds, meanwhile, are in a period of self-expression. They want to be free from adult restrictions, making their own decisions, and expressing their opinions. Our gaming platforms give them a place where they feel they can be themselves, but where their parents feel they are safe. By building their own identity through their profiles, including gaming achievements, teens feel a sense of power and control, boosting self-confidence while focusing on the thing they (and the rest) of us are looking for: fun!

The Teens platform is localized into 11 languages. Over 50 million boys & girls visit the platform every month to play (social) games and connect to friends.
For 2012 and beyond we aim to grow the Teens channel user base and reach. We will do this by investing in the platform and content. By improving the social infrastructure and CRM we will grow the engagement and revenues on our channel. We are looking for a senior and passionate online professional to lead this challenge.


Profiel
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent program
  • 8+ years of working experience
  • Proven track record in an international B2C online environment
  • Experienced people-manager
  • Passion/affinity for games and the teens target audience
  • Knows how to influence stakeholders
  • Budget management experience
  • Project/marketing management experience
  • Excellent in English
  • Experience in building strong brands
