Senior Erlang/OTP Developer (Games)

As a Senior Web Developer at Spil Games, you will be responsible for expanding the features of our multinational network of social-gaming platforms, providing  our global user base with an exceptional gaming experience. Your responsibilities will include devising new solutions and improving the performance of existing ones, from payment solutions to high-availability setups, all in an Agile development environment.

The core tasks and responsibilities of this position are:

• Designing and developing dynamic, large, and scalable high-traffic web applications;
• Participating in the evolution of the platform architecture; 
• Participating in full life-cycle development, including quality assurance;
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies and applying them to your work;
• Contributing to unit, integration, and load tests; 
• Coaching other team members on the technical aspects of their work; and
• Participating in planning sessions.

About Technology:
We write software in the morning and see the world use it the same evening. We do portals, payment solutions, back-end logic, algorithms, performance engineering, scalability, databases, widgets and front-end.

The Agile manifesto is our mantra. We use object-oriented PHP, scalable and powerful Erlang, flexible and logical Python, slick JavaScript, modularized CSS and innovative HTML5. Oh, one last thing. We do not do Excel. Really.

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a low/intermediate-level language with highly concurrent, highly scalable systems.
• Experience with writing production-quality software in Erlang/OTP as well as eUnit for unit testing.
• Being to grasp the larger scale in which your application will operate and interact.
• Experienced in the implementation and design of maintainable performance-critical software.
• Good knowledge of SQL and no-SQL databases.
• Experience with Linux, Unix.
• Strong analytical thinker, intellectually curious.
• Preferably experienced in Low-level networking knowledge (i.e. programming TCP sockets, different communication protocols).
• You should have a valid European work permit to apply for this opportunity.
