You see it as a nice challenge to improve and extend our product and price comparison platform as well as our brand new shopping platform. Our head office is stationed in the city center of Utrecht, the Netherlands, on a 5 minutes walk from Central Station.

What does a Java Developer at Compare Group do?
You will be part of a Agile scrum team that works in sprint cycles of two to four weeks. You will work in an international setting. Your colleagues are located throughput multiple locations in Europe.  You are responsible for the analyses, design and implementation of Java/JEE application and websites. As a scrum team member you contribute to delivery of an end product, that is used by many thousands of customers. 

You should be passionate about delivering high quality, maintainable, elegant software solutions.
You are involved during all phases of the software development cycle. You are responsible for the development of new functionalities and the improvement of the quality and performance of our websites. Together with our designers you discuss about the appearance of new functionalities.

As a senior you have a hands-on approach. Together with the other seniors you have a technical leader role and are responsible for our architectural design.

Compare Group is the holding company of several leading price and product comparison websites in 4 European countries. Since 1999 we create the standard in comparison land with VERGELIJK.NL and VERTAA.FI. Throughout the years we also established VERGELIJK.BE, COMPARER.BE and COMPARER.FR, took over ELCHEAPO.NL, and we are on our way to conquer the rest of Europe.

Millions of consumers visit our websites on a monthly basis and use our services for free. We see it as our mission to make people proud of their purchase. What does your profile look like?

What we need:

• You have a bachelors or masters degree.
• You have minimal 3 years of relevant experience.
• You have knowledge and/or experience with 'Agile'
  and the Srum process.
• You are proficient in Java/JEE and Hibernate
• You have good communication skills in English.
• You are passionate about your profession and enjoy taking ownership of your work!

What we prefer:

• You have knowledge with web technologies.
• Experience with writing testable code.
• Experience with MySQL, JSF, SEAM and JQuery.
