Purpose of role:
The objective for the role is to support Heinz’s global category leader by being expert in Heinz requirements, supply market dynamics, and technologies that impact the category/supply markets. In order to fulfil this objective, the person in this role must:
o Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to develop the logic underpinning category cost models that will be used in development of sourcing and risk management strategies; and
o Be known both within Heinz and externally as a subject market expert, continually reaching out to the broader market to bring the latest, leading edge thinking to bear at Heinz
Key Accountabilities:
Support the category team for their delivery of results in key performance areas including cost management, budgeting & financial predictability, cash performance, inventory reduction, service & quality to plants, process improvements, innovation, and alignment with our internal business partners.
• Contribute to the development of market oriented global category, sourcing, negotiation and supplier management strategies to achieve competitive advantage through lowest purchase cost and value improvements consistent with the direction set by the business
• Be Heinz’s expert for corresponding supply markets that we are buying in and the impacts of governmental; technological; and economic changes that impact those markets
• Be Heinz’s internal source of expertise of the raw material commodity markets that impact the materials we buy as well as working with the Risk Manager to develop a risk management program for each commodity and align key stakeholders to that plan
• Synthesize understanding of Heinz requirements, market dynamics, technology innovations, etc. into insights that can be leveraged by Category leadership to set short and long term supply strategies
• Monitor supply markets and market drivers to contribute to Heinz Risk Management strategies for corresponding categories and to share this information with other procurement and business stakeholders on a regular basis
• Participate in external supply market activities (e.g., conferences, trade groups, etc.) and bring benchmarks/ insights gained from those external sources back to Heinz

Profiel
Experience & competences:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience, potentially bachelors or advanced degrees in Agronomy or relevant engineering disciplines.
Minimum of 8 years experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or Supply Markets with roles of increasing scope & responsibility
• Demonstration of a mastery of category supply market dynamics (e.g., cost drivers, trends), market analytics and analytical tools
• Ability to lead the development of “should cost” models relevant to corresponding categories
• Demonstration of management and leadership of a team of Procurement professionals
• Ability to demonstrate strategic thought leadership including strategy development and implementation
• Ability to demonstrate project management experience and successes; as well as to effectively delegate to team
• Demonstrates superior interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills to multiple levels of the organization
• Strong Influencing skills
• Motivated, self directed, and detail oriented
• Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously & to develop priorities for self and members of staff
• Ability to travel including globally 20 - 30% of the time
• Good understanding of MS Office Suite
